While last week we gave you the video preview of “ Channel Pressure”, today we can offer you more details of the album debut of Ford & Lopatin, the couple of synthetic pop cosmonauts obsessed with the retro-future, who until recently were known as Games. In a previous news item we met Joey Rogers, and today we discover what his mission is. According to the press note, “Channel Pressure” is a concept album with futurist tendencies reporting on the adventures of an adolescent anti-hero (Rogers) who has to face –getting rid of an army of violent robots on his way– a malicious super computer controlling the music industry. If, after reading this, you can’t quite imagine what the album sounds like (don’t worry, we won’t hold it against you), you might want to listen to the first single. It’s called “ Emergency Room” and it’s an 80s soft-rock composition full of synthetic rhythms and all kinds of swaying synthesisers. The album will be out on 7th June on Software. The single will be released by the same label on 26th April, including remixes by Gavin Russom and The Bug.
San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011 takes place on 25 and 29 May at Poble Español, and from 26 to 28 May at Parc del Forum in Barcelona. Tickets are on sale here. Ford & Lopatin - Emergency Room by znaki.fm
