In case the bank holidays have left you confused and now you don’t know which day it is, it’s 25th April, which means it’s only one week until one of the most anticipated albums of the year arrives: Fleet Foxes’ “Helplessness Blues”. As an appetiser for the Sub Pop release (on 3rd May), here we have the streaming of the album, courtesy of NPR’s “first listening” series. We’d already heard four of the tracks ( “Blue Spotted Tail” was premiered two years ago already), and now we’ve heard the whole album, we can tell you that the Seattle band have nailed it again, after a debut that could have been very hard to equal. Exquisite, baroque folk for delicate, melody-loving ears. Now it’s time to study it in detail in advance of their gig at San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011 on 28th May. Click here for the stream. Fleet Foxes will be appearing at San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011. The festival takes place on 25 and 29 May at Poble Español, and from 26 to 28 May at Parc del Forum in Barcelona. Tickets are on sale here.
