Elektronische Musik aus Köln

E.M.A.K.In the wake of their recent overview of the legacy of experimental Germany at the end of the sixties ( Elektronische Musik: Experimental German Rock & Electronic Music 1972-1983), the unmissable Soul Jazz label has announced the imminent release of the first effort by E.M.A.K. ( Elektronische Musik Aus Köln), a project by Kurt Mill and Matthias Becker(with the inestimable technical help of Klaus Stühlen) which in the first half of the 80s released three highly recommendable albums - “EMAK 1” (1982), “EMAK 2” (1983) and “EMAK 3” (1985), with identical sleeves distinguishable only by the colour- on their own Originalton West imprint. Soul Jazz is now releasing the three albums as the missing link between the kosmische school of Cluster, Conrad Schnitzler and Tangerine Dream, the synth-core of D.A.F. and the cosmic disco of Giorgio Moroder and Daniele Baldelli. This retrospective, baptised “A History of E.M.A.K. 1982-88”, will be in stores (on CD and double vinyl) via Universal Sound as from 31st August. E.M.A.K. - “A History of E.M.A.K. 1982 - 88”01.
