Deaf Center

Three performances at Unsound NY

Deaf Center

Deaf Center, the project set up by Norwegians Erik Skodvin and Otto Totland, will be present at the Unsound Festival New York in threes. The duo will be playing material from their third album “Owl Splinters” (Type, 2011) live on 7th April at Judson Memorial Church, with Totland playing the piano and Skodvin the cello. Furthermore, both men will take part in the panel discussion at the Goethe-Institut Wyoming Building on Sunday 3rd April, and Erik Skodvin will be performing a live soundtrack to the film “Nosferatu” under his Svarte Greiner moniker, alongside Polish-German percussionist Paul Wirkus, on Monday 4th April at BAMcinématek.

To give you an idea of Deaf Center’s dark and brooding sound, here we leave you with the stream of the track “Close Forever Watching” off “Owl Splinters”.

Unsound Festival New York is presented by Fundacja Tone, the Polish Cultural Institute in New York and the Goethe-Institut New York. You can get your tickets here.
