Cut Copy

Getting close to the third one

Cut CopyAustralian band Cut Copy have informed fans, via their mailing list, that a new album, following up two celebrated previous discs, “ Bright Like Neon Love” (Modular, 2004) and “ In Ghost Colours” (Modular/XL, 2008), is already finished and is being mixed by Ben Allen, who was responsible of the overall sound of “ Merriweather Post Pavilion” by Animal Collective and Gnarls Barkley’s debut album, amongst other. The release of the album, so far without a title, is schedule for January next year. On the words of Dan Whitford, it draws influences from Talking Heads, Fleetwood Mac (circa “ Tusk”), early 80s Grace Jones, the Malcolm McLaren sound of “ Duck Rock”, the Madchester rave pop sound of Happy Mondays and Primal Scream. While we wait for the full mix-down you can start by checking the “Making of” episodes filmed by KROZM.
