Canadian oddball genius Chilly Gonzales releases his new album, “The Unspeakable Chilly Gonzales” – the first ever orchestral rap album apparently – on July 4th on Schmooze Records. To celebrate, there’s not one but two things going on to get excited about in the run up. Firstly, Chilly has a mischievous new video, again directed by Jonathan Barre (‘Never Stop’, ‘ You Can Dance’), for ‘Party In My Mind’, which you can watch below these lines.
And then, a screening of his “Ivory Tower” film this Saturday will take place at the Barbican, along with a rare solo “Piano Talk” Chilly Gonzales performance, to get their Canada Day festivities going. Find out more about the night and get hold of tickets here. Suffice to say though, baroque chamber pop crew The Hidden Cameras will be headlining, and also appearing will be Woodpigeon and Devon Sproule, with all four artists performing for 30 minutes in a show split into two halves.
