Cat's Eyes

Faris Badwan’s new adventure besides The Horrors

Cat's Eyes We thought Faris Badwan was occupied enough with his designs and work as the vocalist of The Horrors, the band that, as we speak, is recording the ten songs of their third album in Dalston, London, this time without the help of a hired producer. Well, we were wrong, because this spring we’ll see the release of the debut album by Cat's Eyes, a new project by Badwan and Canadian opera soprana and multi-instrumentalist Rachel Zeffira. The self-titled album will be out on 11th April via Polydor (in North America they’ll have to wait until Downtown/ Cooperative Music releases the record on 3rd May). But before that, on 28th February, we can start discovering Cat’s Eyes’ choral pop, thanks to the “Broken Glass EP”. Recorded, like the rest of the album, at Real World studios with Steve Osborne at the helm, the EP will come in a sleeve with artwork made from images contributed by director Chris Cunningham.

After the jump we leave you with a video that shows Faris in the company of Rachel and a female choir performing “I Knew It Was Over” at St. Peter's Basilica, in the heart of the Vatican. If you want to get another one of their songs, enter your email and some other info here and download “Not A Friend”.
