If you’re a staunch fan of American Andrew Bird and one of those who still appreciate the differential value of physical records, then the chances are this piece of news is not that new to you. Ok, we’ll explain ourselves better. Fat Possum has announced the release of a new album by Bird that, in fact, is not new. We’re referring to “Useless Creatures”, an instrumental album—“an ambient experimental record,” as Bird himself has described it—the Illinois-born bard recorded with Glenn Kotche ( Wilco) and bassist Todd Sickafoose. The album was included as bonus with the deluxe Bella Union edition of “Noble Beast” (Fat Possum, 2009), Bird’s most recent album. Now, shortly before the start of his European tour, he’s decided to re-launch it separately. The album will hit stores on 25th October.
