Perseo in a non-stop session

It’s only just seen the light, but things are going swimmingly for them. Perseo, the young label devoted to re-editions, associated with Italians Do It Better, has just announced a new album release. After the compilation “ Perseo: Edits Volume 1”, the label has put out its first official mix CD. The origins of the album can be traced back to the end of 2007. An unfortunate lapse (IDIB’s boss travelled from New Jersey to Portland to DJ at a show with Chromatics and Glass Candy and forgot to take his asthma medication, a bronchodilator called Albuterol), brought Mike Simonetti to Johnny Jewel’s studio, to protect himself from the elements. There they started working on a mix of obscure disco joints, rock songs edits, proto-house, boogie and Italo disco, which was soon posted as a free, low-quality download (without a tracklist) on the IDIB blog. Now the duo has decided to tweak and remaster—by way of a valve system—the mix produced during that session, to be distributed as the first Perseo mix CD. 20th September is the official release date, but it’s already available on Italians Do It Better’s online store.
