While Krakow is getting ready for a week of avant-garde sounds with Unsound, the festival organisation is getting warmed up on the other side of the Atlantic, in New York. On 9th and 10th October, and in collaboration with the Guggenheim and the Brooklyn Academy Of Music, Unsound is commissioning a series of cultural activities in different disciplines. On the 9th, as the closing event of the expo series stilspotting nyc, there will be lectures, conferences, performances, film viewings and personal reflections by different artists, about the subject matter from the past five years of expositions. Among the participating artists are Sergei Tcherepnin, Emily Thompson, Jana Winderen, Robert A. F. Thurman, David Suisman, Charles Renfro, Ben Marcus, Jon Mueller, and Hillel Schwartz.
On the 10th, Unsound will move to the BAM's Rose Cinema, where the 1923 film "The Ancient Law" will be shown, with a live soundtrack played by multimedia artist Thomas Köner. Both activities will start at 7 pm. Get your tickets here and here.
