If you thought that Unsound 2012 ’s already-impressive roster couldn’t be added to, you were wrong. The festival’s organisers have just finished putting together this year’s line-up, adding new names in several of the artistic fields that the Krakow event deals with. Ben UFO, a wonderful young DJ and co-founder of Hessle Audio, will be adding his value to Friday night. On the other hand, Californians Nguzunguzu will reinforce the more recreational, danceable music section, which has also added a Miami Bass session from Dave Tompkins to the closing celebration on 21st October. Looking at darker sound frequencies, Unsound has added two names to the evening dedicated to the PAN label: Englishman Lee Gamble and his experimentations with old jungle tapes, and the American Metasplice. As you should already know, video art, conferences and workshops are a fundamental part of the festival, and that part of the programme has also been finalised this week. You can find out about the range of activities here.
It isn’t an artist, but rather one of the locations where the different activities of Unsound 2012 will be held in Krakow, that played a starring role in the trailer that the festival has released along with the latest confirmations. The video (look for it underneath these lines), made by the duo MFO, shows us the phantasmagorical, disturbing rooms of the hotel Forum, a building that represents the false splendour of the Communist era, long abandoned.
To attend any of the activities included in Unsound 2012 between 14th and 21st October, you must purchase individual tickets, as passes to the entire festival are sold out. You can buy your tickets via this link.
