Festival Internacional de Benicàssim 2011 has added new names to its line-up. Among these names are veterans Big Audio Dynamite (the post-The Clash project by Mick Jones and Don Letts), reunited last year in order to revitalise their hybrid concept of punk, pop, ska, reggae, funk and danceable electronica. On the other extreme (age-wise) we find Anika, the young lady inspired by wise old people (her music is much indebted to post-punk, synth-pop, dub and late seventies / early eighties mutant disco) and supported by none other than Geoff Barrow. From the worlds of British pop and indie folk come Bombay Bicycle Club and Noah & The Whale, also present at the festival on the Spanish Levant coast. Electronica will be represented by one of the biggest talents of Spain, Henry Saiz. McEnroe, the always effective Hidrogenesse, the omnipresent Dorian and Madrid-based band Layabouts complete the Spanish representation in this new batch of confirmations.
FIB 2011 will take place between 14th and 17th July in Benicàssim, on the Costa Azahar. You can get your tickets here.
