Marina Diamandis has had a spanner thrown into the works on her mission to become a worldwide pop star. It seems that the new Marina and the Diamonds video, which is for “ How To Be A Heartbreaker” (a song that only appears on the American version of “ Electra Heart”), was not approved by their label on the other side of the ocean, Atlantic Records. “So, someone at my record label wont let me release the video bc I look ugly in it apparently + we need more $ / time to paint out ugly parts”, twitted the singer to her fans. After the avalanche of criticism that her label in Europe, 679 Recordings, has received in recent hours, it found itself forced to use the same method of communication as the artist to say that “it wasn't our decision, stop sending death threats, etc, etc”. At the end of this week, Atlantic hopes to have the definitive version of the video in hand, but whatever happens, Diamandis has already rushed to say that she will be happy to share “the ‘minger’ version for my fans”.
