Alan McGee Auctioning Tracks By Oasis And The Libertines

The Creation boss is “clearing out all this rock and roll rubbish from [his] house”

It's spring cleaning time at Alan McGee's, and since he was an old music god until he decided to write books and make films, the auction of his musical objects and memorabilia is one hell of an opportunity for thousands of fans of the golden age of Creation. Over a thousand objects from his personal collection will be on offer this Saturday at the auction at Omega Auctions in Manchester. If you're not able to be there in person, you can always place your bids online. And it's only 30% of what McGee wants to get rid off. “I'm just clearing out all this rock and roll rubbish from my house. There will be more to come in future auctions,” he told the Manchester Evening News.

There'll be something for everyone: illustrations, fanzines, thousands of recordings, among which are Oasis' old demos and unreleased tracks by The Libertines, photos, handwritten notes by Courtney Love, a book Meg Matthews (Noel Gallagher's spouse at the time) gave him, an original John Squire (Stone Roses) painting, a lock of hair and a filling from Elvis Presley, and even a piece of the Haçienda dance floor.
