Coinciding with the release of “I Don't Wanna Be A Star”, Dam-Funk’s new EP for Stones Throw, the ambassador of modern funk and the Los Angeles label have presented the Dam-Drum. This is a little beatbox designed and built by Bleep Labs in Austin, Texas with the collaboration of Dam-Funk himself and Stones Throw. The beatbox, which is small (it fits into the palm of the hand), contains four sounds that can be modulated and a sequencer function, allowing combined recording and playing of four rhythmic patterns. Here we leave you with a video demonstrating how it works. The bad thing is that after seeing it, you will probably want one and… it’s already sold out. Its existence was announced yesterday and in a couple of hours they were all snatched up. So to console you, we also leave you here with the audio of “I Don't Wanna Be A Star”.
