The Dø, the French-Finnish duo that stormed the French charts in 2008 with their debut album “A Mouthful”, will return in November with their second LP – which has been out in France for a few months. “Both Ways Open Jaws” will be released by Village Green on the 14th of November. The record, produced by Olivia Merilahti and Dan Levy themselves (the latter taking care of all the instruments played), is a reaction to the extensive tour they did after their debut. Apparently, the two felt frustrated about the technical restrictions of playing live, so when they went back to the studio they grasped the possibility of doing whatever they wanted. On the new album, their sound palette has expanded considerably. “ We're looking for the diversity and richness of sound, surprises in the details, orchestral colours,” says Dan. “ It certainly comes from our culture of classical music, our love of contemporary music, and of musicians like Charlie Mingus. The types of music that follow no map” .
We leave you with the videos for “Slippery Slope” and “Too Insistent”. The latter will be released as a single coinciding with Halloween.
