La Roux gets inspired by Nile Rodgers and rare disco

As they told Mojo

While the exact release date has yet to be confirmed, the followup to La Roux' acclaimed debut appears to be coming in May or June. At least, that's what Elly Jackson and Ben Langmaidhan told Mojo magazine. After turning a barn in Devon into a studio, the duo says they felt right at home “surrounded by geese and otters.” However, the most interesting news is in the details the two revealed about their new sound. According to them, the synths will carry more weight, thanks to their newly acquired Roland Jupiter-8, and the tracks are inspired by Nile Rodgers (Chic) and “rare” disco. The couple is still thinking about the album title, looking for something that won't make them sound “like pretentious wankers.”
