Daft Punk Are Working With Paul Williams

Rumours are that the French group’s new album might appear as early as June

After Nile Rodgers from Chic confirmed that he would put some groove into Daft Punk’s new work, we now have another name to add to the credits on the robotic French group’s coming LP: Paul Williams. One of the most famous American composers of the seventies (especially thanks to the “ Rainbow Connection” from the Muppets film and his compositions for Brian De Palma’s “Phantom of the Paradise”) took advantage of passing through SXSW last Wednesday, for a presentation of the documentary on his life and work. There he let fly that he has “written songs for Daft Punk” and that this material will appear on their new album “coming maybe in June”. Whether or not the date in question is right, everything suggests that the authors of “ Da Funk” will be coming back through the front door in 2012.
