Ninja Tune is about to release Ninja Jamm, an app for iOS-based devices that will allow you to “remix / play / tweak / effect / bend / fold / shuffle / spindle / mutilate the sound” to create, record and share your own versions of tracks from the label’s catalogue. The selection of songs in the application also features material from subsidiary and associated labels, such as Big Dada, and Brainfeeder, and focuses on both the past and the present of the platform. The first confirmed artists are Mr Scruff, Martyn, Shuttle and Bonobo, but the list will be growing in the coming months.
Ninja Jamm is meant for iPhone and iPad, and will be available for free, starting this summer. In order to give you an idea of its potential, here we leave you with a demo video in which label boss Matt Black (also half of Coldcut) and Amon Tobin play around with the app.
