Ben Stiller wants Lady Gaga for the second part of “Zoolander”. According to The Sun, the actor and producer has offered the pop superstar about 4.8 million dollars to play the female counterpart to Derek Zoolander, the not-so-bright model played by Stiller himself. Gaga’s character would be the girl that Zoolander and his rival Hansel McDonald, played by Owen Wilson, fight over. The British newspaper, citing an anonymous source, added that the singer is the film team’s “major priority” because of “her talent, attitude, and incredible sense of humour”. Even so, names like Kate Upton, Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima have also been mentioned for the role.
With or without Gaga, what seems clear is that after a ten-year wait, during which time the film has won a cult following, the sequel to the comedy is finally on the way. Everything suggests that the story will take up where the first part ended and presumably focus on the return of Zoolander and Hansel to the world of fashion after ten years away from it. But then who will take over the “Derek Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good and Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too”?
