If the recently-released “ Under The Westway” left you wanting more, you can breathe easy. On 12th August, if they don’t feel like releasing it earlier, Blur will take advantage of their concert at the London 2012 Closing Ceremony to perform a new song. According to their bass player Alex James (via the latest episode of “Top Gear”), the song will be “like a hymn, a real tear-jerker”. This lends weight to those rumours suggesting that in the near future there will be a new album from the band. Although Graham Coxon revealed no specifics a few weeks ago when NME asked him about it, he did say that he was “interested in playing new things”. At the beginning of the year, William Orbit also commented on Twitter that he was working on new material for the legendary brit-pop band. Furthermore, Stephen Street - a close collaborator of the group - has already shown his interest in recording with them again.
