Azealia Banks Breaks With Her Manager And Announces Twitter Silence To Avoid Being “Too Accessible”

New controversy sparks around the Harlem rapper

More bad news for Azealia Banks. While she cancelled her entire tour two months ago, on the advice of her management, so she could focus on her debut album (which was then changed again, to keep at least two important dates), there's now more controversy, on two fronts. Firstly, she fired the manager, Troy Carter (who also represents Lady Gaga), she hired two months ago, after the cancellation of her world tour. Carter claims their parting of ways has been on “amicable terms”, at the same time praising the Harlem singer's talents, but Banks' words on Twitter suggest otherwise. “I know who you are yes…You short bald man…I know you planted these false stories. Guess what?: I’m still not going to let you manage me again. I’ve dealt with enough cyber bullying to see right thru this. I will definitely be working BY MYSELF and saving MY 20% On management commissions while I avoid you sharks in the water….”

Banks has also decided to delete her Twitter account – which, by the way, is yet to happen at the moment of writing this - and put up a post on Tumblr entitled “No Longer Wishing To Be A Rapper”. “From now on i’m a vocalist, and will not be associating myself with the 'rap game'… or whatever the fuck that means… no more twitter for me… it makes me entirely too accessible. Catch me on tumblr… it’ll be more interesting,” she says in the article.

Her debut full-length, “ Broke With Expensive Taste”, is expected in September, on Interscope. We'll see if deadlines will be met.
