Wichita Recordings is a London label started in 2000 by Mark Bowen and Dick Green. They met while working at Creation Records; when the label collapsed they decided to return to the basics and start from scratch, like a proper independent. They began by licensing American groups, such as Bright Eyes (their first release was “Fevers And Mirrors”), Yeah Yeah Yeahs and My Morning Jacket. Over time, they built their own roster with bands like Bloc Party, The Cribs, Simian Mobile Disco and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - a policy change that would prove very important in their career. One of their most recent signings is Wild Flag. Their release schedule is tight, and they have already got over 300 titles in their catalogue.
