Tectonic is a Bristol dubstep label, founded by Rob Ellis (aka Pinch) in 2005. It soon became the beating heart of the city's electronic scene. Among the artists on its roster are Skream, Digital Mystikz, Loefah, Benga and Joker. They mainly release 12-inches for DJs, but they've also issued albums, including Pinch's debut, “Underwater Dancehall” (2007). The label has championed the fusion between dubstep and techno from the start, materialising in the releases by Dutch producer Dave Huismans (alias 2562), whose LP “Unbalance” (2009) was particularly highly acclaimed. In 2011, the label released the compilation “Best Of Tectonic (2005-2011)” to celebrate their 50th 12-inch release.
