Moshi Moshi Records is a London label founded by Michael McClatchey and Stephen Bass in 1998. It started when a group of committed major label employees, became fed up with the major label way of working. They wanted to take matters into their own hands and start a label, releasing music by bands they really liked. Initially they didn't release too many records, but from 2003 on - after signing Hot Chip and Bloc Party - things started to speed up. Today, their roster is extensive and they've released several dozen albums; a format they have been focussing on in the second half of their existence. Some of Moshi Moshi's great discoveries have been Spectrals, The Drums and Summer Camp.
