Morrissey talking about politics in the media twice a week is as silly as Jerry Springer discussing Obama and health care. Of course, they're both citizens with a right to express their opinions. The problem here isn't the point of view, but rather the context in which he expresses it. If this man is known for his music, why doesn't he use that to show his outrage? That's the key to this fuss: a successful career entering its final phase, when the muses don't appear like they used to anymore, diva-like behaviour and a hunger for attention that can only be satisfied through cheap shots in public. Let him shut up already. Floriana Barrios
As the diva that he is, anything Morrissey says is of the utmost importance. It's not like he's a motor-mouth who gets going during interviews, but rather a smart man who’s been around, and who knows controversy sells, and sometimes you just have to say things, even though people will call you a bigmouth. Whether it's good for him or not, the Brit is a goldmine of incendiary comments, a social agitator who, in spite of his doddering, brightens up our lives every now and then with his pearls of wisdom. His music will always be there to show he's still one of the greats, so let him say whatever he wants. He's earned that right over the past few decades. María-Wendoline Castro
