In this musical world of delays and postponements, we were pleasantly surprised when we got back from our holidays and learned that “Portamento” - the much-awaited second album by The Drums - will be released a week earlier than expected. The record will be out on the 5th of September in Europe and a day later in the US. As an appetiser, Dutch website 3voor12 offers the album streaming. The band promised big twists, but after a first listening session we can tell you that - apart from “Searching For Heaven”, with those slightly cosmic synths we could already hear in the first album promo video - not much has changed. This doesn’t mean that it’s a disappointing album. Quite the contrary, in fact: we love it.
