With a teaser video featuring the famous Run-DMC logo, the New York crew announced their return to the stage, where Rev Run and DMC will be reunited after ten years of silence, during Fun Fun Fun Fest in November. The Austin, TX event also announced a solo gig by DMC. After the tragic death of Run-DMC DJ Jam Master Jay, the other two members of the group no longer performed together, so their upcoming gig is something of a historic event.
Part of the revenues from the festival will go to the foundation created in honour of the deceased DJ, the JMJ Foundation for Music, which is dedicated to the musical and artistic education of school kids in the USA. At the moment it's unknown if the reunion will be extended beyond the Fun Fun Fun Fest appearance.
