One of the most elegant bands (both sound and style-wise) in indie pop and rock, The Walkmen, are counting down to the release of their seventh album, “Heaven”, on Fat Possum and Bella Union. And, in what seems to be becoming the norm, a week before the LP comes out, we can get a taste of it online. Though the first advance tracks seemed to indicate that the New Yorkers were going to go all indie rock on us, now that we've heard the full album, it's clear we're dealing with a 100% The Walkmen effort. Uptempo tracks like “The Love You Love” go hand in hand with acoustic pieces, such as “Southern Heart”, and songs of astonishing beauty, like “Line By Line”. Our first impression is genuinely positive. The album is due out on 29th May.
