Yesterday, Honest Jon's released “R.I.P.”, the third album by Actress. It is without a doubt, one of the most anticipated albums of the year in matters of experimental electronica. An LP on which the sombre London producer takes his vision one step further and explores some remote worlds dominated by chromatic degradation, sinuous emotions and the evocation of scenes that seem inhabited exclusively by strange and wandering souls. According to Darren Cunningham himself, the record revolves around the ideas of life, death, dreams and religion. Although these topics are little more than conceptual flirtations most of the time, the truth is that, over the course of fifteen tracks, the album oozes a kind of primitive mysticism that is hard to find in electronica these days.
