A week from now, Ghostly will release “Beams”, the fifth album by chameleon Matthew Dear. A first listen confirms that, as the label claimed earlier, this album is brighter and less asphyxiating than its predecessor, “Black City” (Ghostly, 2010). It's also his most varied LP to date, on which, even though the sound is still that of electronic glam-pop, he fully embraces the precepts of rock, on songs like “Earthforms” and "Get The Rhyme Right". Dear is thus giving his pop mutations a new twist, with a bigger role for the lyrics than ever. Here we leave you with the full album stream.
