As you will remember, a few weeks ago we mentioned "Totem", RYAT’s debut for Brainfeeder. The album has been available since yesterday, and today we can hear it in its entirety. As the label had told us, it is a highly adventurous album, in which Christina Ryat’s pristine vocal evocations allow themselves to be wrapped in experimental beats interwoven with manipulations of classical instrumentation, such as the piano and strings. From the dismembered delicacy of “Howl” to the psychedelic jazz of “Object Mob”- including the synthetic sparks with a wonky aftertaste of “Raiz”- the album contains eleven compositions with a spirit of travel that submerge us in the dreamy universe of this promising composer settled in Los Angeles. Listen to them after the jump.
