In 2006, soul singer Georgia Anne Muldrow became the first female performer to sign with Stones Throw, where she released her debut album. Now she is back with the California label to release “Seeds” - her new LP, produced by Madlib. It is the first time that the Oakland beatmaker has produced an entire album for a female vocalist and, furthermore, the first time that Muldrow has worked with a producer who is not her partner, Dudley Perkins. Judging from the results, the change of variables in the equation has been fruitful. “Seeds” brings us 11 neo-soul cuts wrapped in a layer of psychedelics, drawing on classic sources. In Madlib’s master-hands, they come to us with an extra-warm sound that does justice to the singer’s blistering vocals. The album is scheduled to arrive on 27th March.
