Tomorrow, “Cancer For Cure” will come out on Fat Possum, the first album of the illustrious El-P in five years. As we told you, the Brooklynite manufactured his sharp, oppressive sound with live instrumentation this time, almost sample-free. A first spin reveals that the MC and producer is in top form, drawing up passages of dystopian futurism with his caustic flow, which is sharper than ever. The guest appearances by Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire, Killer Mike, Despot and Danny Brown only reinforce the apocalyptic, demented vibe on the album. Paul Banks from Interpol and Nick Diamonds from Islands contribute some subtle pop twists that fit perfectly in his sound. Because El-P told Rolling Stone that "Everybody on the record is somebody that I've had in my head or that I've had in my life that's been helping me in the way that I think about music."
