Coming on 8th March is “Ekstasis”, the album with which Julia Holter claims her throne, after becoming one of the new princesses of experimental underground, thanks to the majestic “Tragedy”. A first listening confirms that, as indicated by the advances, the album is more focused on the traditional pop song format than its predecessor, but without losing an ounce of Holter’s bewitching, theatrical spirit. The act of limiting this fantastic component in less dispersed melodies and less completely free structures only reinforces the emotional element of her songs, which once again take us to places of disturbing supernatural beauty.
