Among the first confirmations for this year's Unsound were people like Tim Hecker & Oneohtrix Point Never, Biosphere & Lustmord, Julia Holter, V/Vm, and aTelecine. The festival has just added a second batch of names to the bill of an edition revolving around the concept “THE END”.
After a tremendous performance in 2008, Ben Frost will return to Krakow to premiere a new show, accompanied by percussionists Shahzad Ismaily and Greg Fox. The extreme sound will be represented by Vatican Shadow, the most recent project by noisemaker Dominik Fernow, as one of his three European gigs. Seconding Fernow's show will be Kevin Drumm, another illustrious figure from the American experimental scene. Robert Henke, alias Monolake, is another festival classic returning, this time to present his audiovisual ATOM project. His concert will take place at the Teatr Laznia Nowa, an impressive post-industrial construction in Nowa Huta. Uwe Schmidt, alias Señor Coconut, will play as ATOM ™, combining sound and video on a kinetic stage, in order to present his new effort on Raster-Noton. Both Voices From The Lake, the project by Donato Dozzy and Neelm, and Shackleton will present their acclaimed new albums, while the bass factor will have Cooly G and Kuedo as main representatives, the latter offering one of his acclaimed audiovisual shows with Berlin collective MFO. From Chicago, Hieroglyphic Being and Traxman will come to present their always intense visions of house and juke, respectively. And finally, Evian Christ, one of the latest signings of Tri Angle, will be presenting his very first live show.
Unsound 2012 will take place between 14th and 21st October in several venues in Krakow, Poland. Tickets will go on sale by the end of July. Check the line-up to the right of this article.
