Planet Mu continues to explore the juke/footwork path. The label is releasing the first full-length by Young Smoke, one of the most promising talents on the scene, late this summer. Young Smoke is David Davis, an 18-year-old with a most particular vision of footwork. While rooted in the usual parameters of the style (160 BPM and a lot of bass), his productions are cosmic, making them sound totally unique. Like Drexciya's submarine fantasies, but built on rhythms from both techno and drum'n'bass. After his three cuts for the “Bangs & Works” compilations, Young Smoke will make his album debut with “Space Zone” on 25th September.
Here we leave you with one of the tracks off of it, and the album tracklist.
