We've known for a few months that The Flaming Lips were working on something big for Record Store Day on 21st April, and now all the details have been revealed. They're doing an album with artists including Bon Iver, Erykah Badu, Nick Cave, Tame Impala and Coldplay's Chris Martin, among many others (check the tracklist to the right). Many of the songs are previously unreleased, whilst others are recovered from previous collaborations Wayne Coyne and his gang did with Neon Indian, Lightning Bolt, Prefuse 73 and Yoko Ono.

The collection will be entitled The Flaming Lips And Heady Fwends” and will feature “a series of unique and experimental sessions”. It will be released in a very limited edition on multi-coloured vinyl, with each copy getting its own design.
