Planet Mu Announces Konx-om-Pax Album

“Regional Surrealism” to arrive at the end of July

Planet Mu Announces Konx-om-Pax Album | Music News

Although his visual work is what has brought him the greatest returns so far (there are his applauded videos for Hudson MohawkeMartynJamie Lidell or Kuedo, or his cover art for Oneohtrix Point NeverRustieMogwaiKing Midas Sound or HudMo himself, among others), Tom Scholefield, alias Konx-om-Pax has  been dabbling in music for years, whether as a DJ or a producer who loves analogue-textured, world-inventing electronica. His vision of electronic music, rough, not at all polished, has just been materialised in his first album for Planet Mu, “Regional Surrealism”. It is a collection of pieces oscillating between synthetic ambient, concrète experiments with a radio flavour, cosmic gliding and braindance with lo-fi tendencies, as if Aphex Twin, Popol Vuh, Daphne Oran, Ash-Ra Tempel, Oneohtrix Point Never, Belbury Poly and Kuedo were all living under one roof and sharing machines, with an eye to putting strange films and television series to music. The album will hit the shops on 23rd July.
