After signing with 3024 for the magnificent “Convextations”, Damon Kirkham, alias Jon Convex, returns to Martyn's label for a new EP. This time, the man from Instra:mental is getting vocal help from dBridge, who contributes to two of the three tracks. The Briton is playing with electro dynamics and deep-house moods, balancing analogue rawness and deep sophistication to more than seductive effect. “Lied To Be Loved”, the opening track, picks up the powerful and fluid bass lines of “Convextations”, only this time he juxtaposes them with dBridge's silky voice and distant, crepuscular chords. On “Zero”, the sumptuous atmosphere contrasts with the metallic flavour of the rhythms, while “Stay”, the second track featuring dBridge, is the most housy one, and also the most melodic. The record's due out on 23rd May. Here we leave you with extracts of the three cuts.
