Active since the early 90s, in 1999, veteran San José, California, rapper Dave Dub left the USA and moved to Jamaica. In the mid-00s, he returned to reactivate his career, alongside his long-time collaborator Tape Mastah Steph. According to Stones Throw, it was the beatmaker who convinced the MC to go back to his roots and record an album using only the equipment they had at their disposal when they first started, an SP-1200 and an old Ensoniq EPS. The result is “The Treatment”, a raw and lumpy piece of rap, Dub's first album for Peanut Butter Wolf's label. Due out on 22nd May on LP, CD and digital.
Here we leave you with first advance track “Superfly”. You can also download it from the label website.
