New Ariel Pink Album Expected In August

The Californian says there will be no style changes

New Ariel Pink Album Expected In August | Music News

Ariel Pink and his band Haunted Graffiti have been in and out of the studio for the past six months  to work on the follow-up for “Before Today” (4AD, 2010). With 13 or 14 tracks on tape and being mastered and mixed, the album is now almost finished. Pink told Spin that the record is similar to its predecessor: “There are definitely not any links to my lo-fi origins. It's so diverse but so different from anything I've done before. In a sense, it’s really the record I wanted to make back when I made Before Today, but couldn't due to pressures and different factors. We had time to let our hair down and try new things. And just so that there's no room for doubt, he added: “I'm not making too many stylistic changes. I'm not making dubstep. I'm doing everything the way I always do it: retro-licious, for lack of a better word.”

The album's expected for late August, on 4AD. Pink hasn't revealed the title yet, as that's something they'll decide on later. In September, the band will start touring, alongside James Ferraro and Dam-FunK.
