New Album From Sigur Rós At The End Of May | Music News

Shortly into the month of November, the first alarms began to ring regarding a new studio work from Sigur Rós for this spring. According to Q Magazine, the band’s new album will be called “Valtari” and it will reach us this coming 28th May.

While we wait for official confirmation from their label, EMI, it should be noted that in the article for Q the Icelanders’ bassist, Georg Hólm, defines the future songs as “ambient”, “minimal”, “introverted” and “floaty”. Jónsi, for his part, added that “there's more electric stuff than before... but don't worry, we haven't made a dance record”.

As we wait for a first sound advance to come out, we have to settle for this incomplete tracklist that you can see to the right. Here one sees that the Icelanders have decided to give up the language of Shakespeare this time round.
