Japanese imprint Diskotopia brings us the first release by promising producer Myakkah. “Warehouse Soul EP” is heavily influenced by early-nineties New York house, with a clotted, underground sound. “Eyes Up” opens the EP, lit by solar flares and driven by blurry rhythms. “Eyes Down” and “I Want To Feel” go deeply into oppressive, nocturnal sounds, in accordance with the “warehouse” bit of the EP title. “Modern Life”, however, is a stylistic escape that sounds like a classic house producer making cloud-rap. The album’s slated for release on 25th May, digitally. Here we leave you with extracts of all the tracks, plus the video of “I Want To Feel”.
