Ribbon Music is preparing the release of a collection of rarities and previously unreleased material from John Maus, very pertinently titled “A Collection of Rarities and Previously Unreleased Material”. The compilation includes sixteen cuts recorded over the last eleven years, of which only “Angel of the Night” and “Lost” are completely previously unreleased. Nine of the songs were already included on “Demos 2011”, a pack that - as his hard-core fans will remember - Maus himself made available to the world on his website. In the same way, songs like “This is the Beat,” “Castles in the Grave,” “Bennington,” “My Hatred is Magnificent,” and “No Title (Molly)” have appeared previously on different compilations. Nevertheless, for the occasion, all of the cuts have been re-mixed and re-mastered. “A Collection of Rarities and Previously Unreleased Material” will be available from the 16th July on both CD and limited-edition vinyl, with the first 500 vinyl copies being a translucent pink. Here we leave you with the entire tracklist and the opportunity to listen to “Mental Breakdown”.
