Though his last studio album dates back to 2008, the prolific Christian Fennesz is still involved in all kinds of other projects. His latest effort is the soundtrack to the film "AUN - The Beginning and the End of All Things", directed by fellow Austrian Edgar Honetschläger. The picture explores the idea of the search for the future by human kind, its desire to create tomorrow, and its fear of the apocalypse. The director focuses on the dichotomy of man and nature, imagining a future in which life is dominated by sensuality.
Apart from including bespoke material, the soundtrack also recovers three of the pieces from “Cendre”, the album Fennesz and Ryuichi Sakamoto released in 2007. The record will be out on Touch on 25th June on CD, including a 28-page booklet featuring stills from the film and artwork by Philip Marshall. Here we leave you with the tracklist and the online stream of two of the tracks.
