4AD Celebrates Colourbox' 30th Birthday With A Box Set | Music News

Colourbox, one of the flagship bands in the early years of the legendary 4AD label, intend to celebrate their 30th birthday big time. The London imprint is preparing a box with four CDs, simply titled “Colourbox” (in keeping with two albums the group released), featuring all of their studio recordings and remixes, sequenced by Martyn Young. The first disc contains their 1985 album “Colourbox”, adding the seven tracks of the free mini LP that came with the first 10,000 copies of the album at the time to the ten of the record itself. The second CD features all their 7-inch releases, while the third contains remixes and extended versions previously released on 12-inch. Finally, the fourth disc features the four tracks from their 1983 mini album, “Colourbox”, a previously unreleased mix of “Arena” and eight songs recorded for a BBC session. The box set will be out on 22nd May.
