Some time ago, Tim Burgess, leader of The Charlatans, tweeted half-jokingly that he would love to have his own cereal brand. Oddly enough, the people of Kellogg’s saw the tweet and got in touch with him to ask him if he was serious. Burgess said yes and here's the result: Totes Amazeballs.
In NME, the singer said about the name: “People have started to use that expression and it kind of gets up people’s noses, but it sounded to me like something Willy Wonka would come up with.” He also said that a good breakfast with Amazeballs will cure any festival hangover. “We were thinking of something you’d eat at a festival that’d get you back on your feet. Something that will get you out of your tent, when you wake up a bit hungover”.
If you decide to go to the Kendal Calling festival, you can get a box of cereal at the Tim Peaks diner Burgess will set up for the occasion. All revenues will go to the David Lynch Foundation, as a thank you for letting him use the Twin Peaks connection.
