The Flaming Lips continue their particular battle with boredom, unstoppably starting new side-projects and releasing records on unusual formats. As you'll probably already know, the Oklahoma band celebrated last Record Store Day putting out “The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends”, a double album (listen to the tracks here) featuring collaborations with such diverse artists as Bon Iver, Ke$ha, Erykah Badu, Nick Cave, Chris Martin from Coldplay, Neon Indian, Lightning Bolt, Prefuse 73 and Yoko Ono.
Not many people were able to get their hands on a physical copy, and even fewer got the special edition holding the blood of almost everybody on the record, pressed in the transparent vinyl. Wayne Conye decided to put ten of those on auction. According to his tweet, the copies will be on eBay by the end of the week, with a starting price of 2500 US dollars a piece.
