It's no secret that Outkast's André 3000 has been pursuing an acting career for years, but it looks like he'll finally have some success in the near future. According to Entertainment Weekly, the artist is to play none other than Jimi Hendrix in the biopic “All Is By My Side”. So the rumours turn out to be true after all.
While it's still unknown who will be starring alongside André, the film is written and directed by John Ridley. Shooting will start in a few weeks, in Ireland, and the story covers Hendrix' period in England in 1966 and 1967, while he was recording his first album “Are You Experienced?” (Reprise, 1967). Seeing as the members of the Academy love biopics, we bet André will be nominated for an Oscar, if he plays it right.
